| "En este texto se problematiza el tema del suelo alcabalatorio, un componente importante de la estructura fiscal novohispana y que perduró hasta muy entrada la era republicana. Se revisan las diversas reformas que se realizan a los suelos alcabalatorios del estado de San Luis Potosí, México, durante los años de la Primera República Federal y se revisan diversos casos cotidianos que dan luz sobre los efectos que causaban las reformas fiscales en el quehacer de los comerciantes, así como la resistencia o beneplácito que éstos tenían a la aplicación de la política fiscal."
"In this essay the author problematize the subjet of suelos alcabalatorios, an important component of the colonial and republican fiscal systems. The suelos alcabalatorios studied here surpassed the colonial era well into the national period. It is precisely during the latter period the author studies the fiscal reforms that affected the configuration of the suelos alcabaltorios in the Mexican state of San Luis Potosí; also the author pays attention on the effects caused by such reforms on the everyday life of local and foreign merchants and their strategies to resist or support the changes of the government’s fiscal policy." | |
